Psychologist, PhD
I am a clinical psychologist experienced in providing therapy to adults and couples struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, relationship issues, and identity development.
I take an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from psychodynamic and relational perspectives, and incorporating interventions from Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Cognitive Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Through empathy and humor, We will build a strong collaborative relationship, which allows you to explore your inner self, develop a greater awareness of emotions and destructive patterns, and work toward making meaningful change. I recognize that every individual presents unique experiences and challenges, therefore, important aspects of a client’s identity including race, sexuality, gender expression, and cultural background are welcomed with openness and respect.
I have a particular interest and expertise in the psychological impact of the transition to parenthood including preconception, pregnancy loss and infertility, perinatal depression and anxiety, and parenting as a couple. During my predoctoral internship I worked in the perinatal psychiatry program at Zucker Hillside Hospital and also completed a rotation on their women-only inpatient unit. I have also completed the first level of training in the Perinatal Mental Health Certification Program with Postpartum Support International. The unique challenges that come with this phase of life require special support and understanding, and I believe that no one should feel alone or stigmatized as they navigate this transition.
