My individual practice is comprised of clients with a diverse cross section of ages, problems, ethnicities, socioeconomic classes, orientations and professions including the creative arts, students, educators and those in the legal and financial sectors.I have been in clinical practice for over 35 years and I love my work especially as I have been trained in newer cutting edge therapies i.e. EMDR, IFS, sensorimotor psychotherapy, coherence therapy and AEDP. These allow people to permanently replace the old seemingly intransigent painful unconscious emotional learnings which underlie ones feelings, beliefs and actions with new contradictory information that disconfirms the original learning. This rewiring of the brain is a personal transformation. They report how they now feel "lighter" "freer" and have choice. Many people I see do not feel fully alive—they are stuck in negative beliefs and feelings that color how they feel about themselves and others. They struggle with:anxiety and depression; working through traumas as a result of physical , sexual, or psychological abuse/threats/attacks; dealing with relationship conflicts, intimacy issues, handling problems with work or school;loss and bereavement (including pet loss); aging and geriatric issues; and experience difficulties setting and reaching goals. What I offer people first and foremost is a safe space where they talk about themselves openly and without being judged. The relationship is critical to our successful work. I do not see people as “sick”—I help people to befriend and welcome all aspects of their being and appreciate that much of the behavior/feelings that have gotten them in trouble are survival strategies that are no longer needed.

In addition to direct private practice, I have also done workshops on stress and am called to intervene in EAP programs when a stressful incident occurs in the school or workplace . I have been involved with the NYC trauma recovery network which is part of HAP- EMDRIA providing services to first responders of COVID -19 as well as the coronavirusonlinetherapy.org. I am also in the NYC Association of trauma therapists

I am the director of PsychworksNY , a group of experienced liscened clinical social workers

Prior to private practice I worked at a community mental health center. In addition to my providing psychotherapy, I also co founded a parent education center for parents with preschoolers and was the education director of the clinic for graduate students in psychology, nursing, social work , and the creative arts. I was also a field instructor for Hunter college School of Social work (and a faculty advisor after I left the clinic) These experiences have sharpened my understanding of issues confronting students and parents of preschoolers.
