I specialize in helping individuals and couples to improve communication, reduce stress, heal from old hurts, and experience more joy in their most important relationships and endeavors.  I bring optimism, warmth and humor, along with a variety of therapeutic approaches.

I have extensive training and experience in the following special areas:

Working with new mothers and their partners on concerns such as pre- and postpartum mood disorders, adjustment to parenting, trauma related to pregnancy and childbirth, and pregnancy loss;

Working with older clients, particularly on concerns related to health problems, mobility and independence; changes in social networks, caregiving for a partner with illness or dementia, and the search for meaning and satisfaction in the later stages of life;

Couples who are experiencing stress in their relationships, which may be due to communication difficulties, adjustment to parenthood or other life transitions, including infertility and perinatal loss.

I have advanced training in Couple and Family Therapy (Ackerman Institute for the Family), Postpartum Mood Disorders, EMDR (Certified Practitioner), Somatic Experiencing (SEP since 2018), Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, and several other modalities.  Each client I work with is unique, and we will collaborate together to find the right path for you.
