Dr. Melissa Gluck is a Licensed Psychologist in NYC helping adolescents, college/graduate students, and adults navigate life transitions, relationship difficulties, challenging family dynamics, LGBTQ+ concerns, and self-esteem/relationship with self. Dr. Gluck has worked in a variety of settings before entering private practice, most recently in college counseling centers (Pace, Fordham).

Through my years of training and lived experiences I know that therapy works best when there is a genuine and trusting connection between therapist and client. I lead with warmth, empathy, humor, and non-judgment. I am a relational psychodynamic clincian and work to empower my clients by helping them understand how their past experiences and relationships influence their present. I take an active approach with my clients and will use solution-focused techniques as well as incorporate CBT and DBT skills to help my clients “put out” the “little fires” that comes up in a fast-paced life. With that said, I believe that the key to long-term change lies in the therapeutic connection. Clients deserve to feel safe with their therapist. I value curiosity and openness in my approach. I will engage my clients in conversations about their intersecting socio-cultural identities and will make space for exploration of ones that they aren’t sure of yet.

I’m passionate about serving the LGBTQ+ community and aim to be a source of support as individuals navigate their understanding of self. I believe in the importance of not just equality among all, but also in equity. I believe in an egalitarian relationship between therapist and client as I value the humanity that we share above all else.
