Melissa Walker, LCSW-R, LICSW, is a psychotherapist in private practice in Greenwich Village. She works with adults and adolescents, couples, and groups. Her approach is psychodynamic, informed by Modern and Relational Psychoanalysis.

Alongside her work with couples, she sees pairs whose relationships aren’t romantic, such as adult siblings and business partners. She leads weekly Modern Analytic therapy groups and has a sub-specialty in working with adoptees, including those in search and reunion and late-discovery adoptees.

Melissa earned her MSW at the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and pursued post-graduate training at the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Study Center and the Center for Group Studies. She has served on the faculty of PPSC’s Clinical Journeys program, where she has also supervised graduate students. She provides consultation and supervision to clinicians, with a particular interest in countertransference as a source of clinical understanding.

She sees patients in person in Greenwich Village and by telehealth throughout New York State, Vermont, and Florida.
