Dr. Melanie Love is Columbia-trained clinical psychologist specializing in working with men, relationship issues, self-esteem, anxiety, and substance use. From her years in university mental health, she particularly enjoys working with college and graduate students or other young adults navigating the transition into career. She practices from a psychodynamic and relational lens while integrating skills as needed to help build confidence and self-worth, create more fulfilling relationships, and develop ways to cope with difficult emotions. Dr. Love works virtually in New York and in Florida.

Dr. Love is the co-author of the book "Secrets and Lies in Psychotherapy" (APA, 2019), which focuses on helping identify core issues clients struggle to be most open about in therapy, such as substance use, sex, and feelings about the therapist themselves. This work deeply shapes her therapeutic approach and her sensitivity to helping clients build trust and feel truly comfortable getting to the root of the issues that really matter so they can make meaningful progress.

Dr. Love completed her postdoctoral fellowship at NYU's Counseling Center with a specialty focus in substance use. She also has experience working in Fordham University Counseling Center, Temple University Counseling Center, and at the Manhattan VA.
