I am a double board certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist based in Westchester, New York.
After receiving my medical degree at SUNY Upstate Medical University, I trained in general adult psychaitry at Zucker Hillside Hospital at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra / Northwell in Queens. I stayed on at Zucker Hillside Hospital to complete my fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry. Since then, I've practiced in numerous settings including general outpatient care, student mental health, behavioral health urgent care, and crisis intervention.
In addition to my clinical work, I hold academic appointment as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Donald and Barbara School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, where I’ve been involved in teaching and supervising medical students and residents. I’ve presented at local and national meetings on the topics of emotional wellbeing for medical students, psychoeducation, and treatment adherence. I also participated in an advanced training workshop focused on evidence-based practice at Duke University School of Medicine and am passionate about incorporating best evidence into patient care.
I take a comprehensive and collaborative approach to treatment, seeking to understand the many factors that contribute to overall mental health. I believe in the importance of psychotherapy, lifestyle interventions, caregiver support and guidance, and when indicated, thoughtful and careful use of medication.
In addition to psychopharmacology, I have training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and family therapy. I draw on these modalities to help my patients better understand themselves, develop healthy coping skills, and improve overall wellbeing.
