I have been practicing for over 30 years and I have a strong conviction that therapy can help people lead the lives they dream of having. I am able to use my ability to understand my clients and help them resolve what is getting in their way from attaining those dreams. I have a profound respect for people who desire to change their lives by understanding themselves and I am greatly attuned to the different ways that people go about this. I am able to listen, not only to what my clients say, but to what they really want and need.
I am trained as a Psychoanalyst so I understand the importance of working with people as individuals rather than following an impersonal formula. I work with my clients based on where THEY are coming from and at the pace that THEY are comfortable with. This is a unique partnership.
I have particular interests in helping people find (and keep) life partners and create families. I believe strongly that men and women who suffer from infertility are better able to happily resolve this issue when they are in ongoing therapy, working together toward that quest.
For the past 15 years I have run The Third-Party Parenting Network (TPPN) a network of parents who have built (or are working on building) their families through ovum donation, embryo donation, sperm donation, or surrogacy. TPPN provides the opportunity for parents to connect, share their stories, receive support and learn from each other about the issues that are unique to the experience of Third Party Parenting, such as disclosure, siblings and genetic origins. Meeting regularly, over time with the same group of people builds a level of trust which enables a deeper exploration of what it is like to be a parent dealing with issues.
