Psychoanalyst
I'm a licensed psychoanalyst in private practice currently seeing children, adolescents, and adults virtually and in-person in Manhattan and Brooklyn. I specialize in matters related to the body, wants and desires, as well as relationships of all kinds. I also have expertise working with people who are struggling with anger, traumatic events, feeling stuck, or who simply feel like something's not quite right. Whether using play therapy with children or working psychodynamically with adults, I approach the therapeutic process as a collaboration to gain insight and support meaningful change.
In addition to my clinical practice, I serve as the Chair of the Sexuality and Gender Initiative and the co-chair of the Colloquium Committee at the Manhattan Institute for Psychoanalysis. I also teach at the National Training Program in Contemporary Psychoanalysis and am on the faculty at the Brooklyn Institute for Social Research. My essay, “Mask Up,” was awarded the 2023 Symonds Prize and was published in Studies in Gender and Sexuality. My writing has also appeared or is forthcoming in The New Inquiry, The Ersatz Experience, and Autotheory and Its Others.
Prior to becoming a psychoanalyst, I studied literature and worked in Brazil and South Africa. My experiences teaching and living abroad inform my approach to psychoanalysis as a practice devoted to living a vibrant, expansive life.
