Mental Health Counselor
I enjoy working with all ages, from children to older adults. I work with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, life-transitions, communication issues, and family concerns, among many others. I spent the last three years working in intensive family therapy, working with parents and teens who were struggling with family dynamics, communication, and boundary setting. I enjoyed that work because it allowed me to work with the family as a whole, while also working with each individual and what they were struggling with. I also do couples work, focusing on rebuilding trust and strengthening communication.
I utilize strength-based CBT and person-centered therapy to help shape sessions to fit each unique client and to challenge thoughts and beliefs to help the client process thoughts and feelings. I introduct useful tools and skills to incorporate into the client's day-to-day. I like to spend the sessions talking about whatever the client would like to discuss while also providing guidance and establishing goals for therapy.
