Robin Zachary is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over thirty years of experience treating adults in both individual and couples therapy. She brings expertise in the treatment of trauma, having been on staff in various leadership roles, at the Victims of Violence Program at Cambridge Hospital/Harvard Medical School for twenty five years. Her work is grounded in a psychodynamic, relational approach, with the ability to weave in EMDR, hypnotherapy, sensory-motor, internal family systems, and mindfulness techniques. Robin earned her MSW at Smith College School for Social Work. Post-graduate fellowship at the VOV Program followed, concurrent with the position of Research Coordinator for the Trauma Center with Dr. Bessel van der Kolk in the DSM IV trials. Robin then joined the staff at the VOV program and launched her private practice in 1992. Her certifications and post-graduate trainings include a three year hypnotherapy externship with Dan Brown PhD, EMDR, Internal Family Systems, MBSR and MBCT, a year-long couples training at the Cambridge Family Institute, and 200 hr registered yoga teacher training that facilitated the formation of PTSD and yoga groups. Robin holds a part-time faculty appointment at Harvard Medical School where she continues to supervise and consult. Robin has been qualified as an expert witness in federal courts for cases in which trauma is a salient factor. Robin Zachary now bases her practice in NYC, and is licensed in both NY and MA.
