Teresa's specialty is helping clients become more fully themselves - by breaking through old narratives of who they are, forming healthier connections with themselves and the important people in their lives, and figuring out how to move into the future aligned with their most authentic desires. She has special experience working with adult children navigating challenging dynamics with parents, people struggling with intense moods and/or altered states, and people impacted by religious issues and/or questions about spirituality.

As a queer mixed race woman of color originally hailing from Trinidad and Tobago and Ireland, Teresa understands how important it is for each client to be known and understood in the context of their full, whole self. She draws from feminist and postcolonial critical theory in her clinical approach, as well as more traditional modalities such as Psychodynamic Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.

Teresa is a graduate of the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, and has completed additional advanced clinical training through the Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Study Center and the Embody Lab. She practices as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker living in New York and New Jersey and provides weekly individual therapy sessions for adults 18+ only. Her hybrid practice offers virtual sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays with limited additional in person availability in Downton Brooklyn on Thursdays.
