People seek therapy in the hope that something in life can be better. I believe in meeting you wherever you are and working together on an approach to help. My stance is relational and person-centered, shaped by a consideration of the ways systems of all kinds influence our lives and can entrench us in limiting and painful patterns. I make use of the many tools available to therapists: psychodynamics; narrative therapy; family systems; ACT, CBT, and DBT; mindfulness, grounding, and humor, where needed. With kids, I also utilize play therapy. But above all, I believe in collaborating to understand you and your particular needs.
My goal is to provide a steady, attuned, and comfortable environment to pursue symptom relief and deeper self-understanding. I support clients through a range of issues, including questions of identity, gender and sexuality, relationship challenges, attachment issues, creative blocks, life transitions, trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and neurodivergence.
I welcome clients of all identities and work with individuals and couples. I offer in-person therapy in Brooklyn and Manhattan and virtual therapy anywhere in New York.
