Hi! I'm Dr. Samantha Schindelheim, DSW, LCSW-R and I am a licensed clinical social worker in New York and New Jersey specializing in working with young children, teens, young adults and parents struggling with mood and anxiety issues, parenting, trauma, behavioral issues, and interpersonal challenges. I integrate a variety of evidence-based interventions to help individuals function successfully in their home, school, and communities.

I provide in-home and telehealth therapy services as meeting a client where they are most comfortable is a priority of mine. Specifically, I provide Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Parent Management Training (PMT, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior (TF-CBT). Throughout my career, I have worked with people from diverse ethnic, racial, and cultural backgrounds. I am a fluent Spanish speaker and provide services in Spanish.

I'm passionate about helping individuals and families move from surviving emotional turmoil and life problems to thriving with the use of healthy coping strategies and a safe, trusting, and collaborative team approach to treatment.

In addition to direct clinical practice, I am an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia School of Social Work where I teach Advanced Clinical Practice and Suicide Assessment and Treatment. I am also a clinical consultant on a R34 NIH Grant through Johns Hopkins Medical Center helping to create and implement a suicide prevention manual for use by Community Health Workers in pediatrician offices in Baltimore.
