Shanni Liang (She/Her)

I have a small private practice in Upper West Side (in person), and love to get to know more providers so I can build a good referral network for my clients. I am an Asian American therapist in the Upper West Side who specializes in helping women in dating and relationships. If you have clients or referrals who are single, divorced, or going through a bad breakup, I am your person!

I began my career as a crisis counselor helping people with anxiety and suicidal thoughts. Before I started Private Practice, I worked with older adults in a mental health startup. I was also a School Social Worker in the Department of Education; helping parents navigate special education to obtain an Individual Education Plan and provide counseling to high-risk students. Some settings I also worked at included Outpatient Mental Health Clinics, Group Practice, Senior Centers, Hospitals, and Non-profit agencies.

I did my post graduate three year training in New York School of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program. I am currently training in AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy.

These days I like to spend my free time doing hydroponic gardening, karaoke, and finding good food in Flushing Chinatown. I also have a 8 year old kitty cat name Coco.
