Shannique Richards, PhD, is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in New York State and New Jersey and an Instructor in Medical Psychology in Psychiatry at Columbia University Medical Center. She has expertise in perinatal mental health and experience working with individuals and couples navigating fertility challenges, including difficulties conceiving, navigating reproductive loss, and utilizing assisted reproductive technologies (ART).
Dr. Richards received her B.A from Medgar Evers College, a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University, a doctorate from the City University of New York, City College. She completed her APA-accredited internship at Lenox Hill Hospital and a postdoctoral fellowship where she received specialized training in reproductive mental health and fertility. Dr. Richards previously worked in college counseling and community mental health settings. She has received mentorship through the American Society for Reproductive Medicine’s mentorship program and has received certification in reproductive mental health.
