When my clients initially reach out either as individuals, couples or parents, most feel like they have been pulling on loose ends of a knot with the hope of easing tension; yet instead of untangling, the knot is consistently reinforced. In a safe space designed to encourage reflection, we will unpack current difficulties and long-standing issues in the context of past experiences. All of us are impacted by our upbringing, and if we can begin to understand these experiences and how they affect the roles we play in the world, then we are at an undeniable advantage for improving our wellbeing.
My clients gain new perspectives, increased levels of understanding, and effective communication and mindfulness strategies that promote health and happiness rather than conflict. By drawing upon psychodynamic, mentalization, and somatic (body) experience techniques, my clients are better able to create fundamental connections between their mind and body and, with time, newfound awareness will lead to change and personal growth.
