As a licensed clinical psychologist and trained psychoanalyst and I see my role as helping you to understand and resolve the conflicts that are making you feel bad. Therapy is a process that allows you to identify problematic patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving that may be impairing your interpersonal and professional success, Improvement is understanding how and why these patterns formed, and what it takes to change them. This is most likely to happen when you feel safe and in a confidential atmosphere with an attuned and nonjudgmental listener. I work with adults, adolescents and couples.My treatment approach is informed by my psychoanalytic training, though I draw on many different orientations I am flexible and responsive to your particular needs and goals and see every patient as a unique and complex individual.
I specialize in working with people facing, loss, life transitions and early and midlife career changes. I also have worked with many 2nd and 3rd generation Holocaust survivors. I have a strong interest in the impact of the transmission of trauma from one generation to another, about which I teach, present and write.
