Dr. Solimar Santiago-Warner, DSW, LCSW, PMH-C is a licensed psychotherapist, researcher, educator, and speaker specializing in women's mental health and reproductive mental health. She provides virtual psychotherapy to adults and couples throughout New York and Connecticut.
Dr. Santiago-Warner specializes in supporting individuals navigating infertility, IVF, pregnancy loss, stillbirth, termination for medical reasons (TFMR), traumatic birth, NICU experiences, pregnancy after loss, postpartum depression and anxiety, birth trauma, reproductive trauma, grief, and the emotional and identity transitions of motherhood. She also works with women experiencing anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, relationship challenges, and major life transitions across the reproductive lifespan.
Her approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed, integrating EMDR, attachment-based psychotherapy, mindfulness, somatic interventions, and relational psychotherapy. She believes healing begins when people feel deeply understood and provides a space where clients can process difficult experiences with compassion, curiosity, and hope.
Before entering private practice, Dr. Santiago-Warner served as a perinatal palliative care social worker at Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of NewYork-Presbyterian, where she supported families facing high-risk pregnancies, fetal and neonatal diagnoses, infant loss, complex medical decision making, and bereavement. This experience continues to shape her compassionate, interdisciplinary approach to caring for individuals and families navigating reproductive trauma and grief.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Santiago-Warner is an active researcher, educator, and national speaker whose scholarship focuses on reproductive grief, perinatal mental health, and trauma-informed care. She has published and presented nationally on perinatal palliative care, reproductive loss, and the integration of trauma-informed approaches into clinical practice. She is the developer of Embodied Grief Theory, an emerging clinical framework that explores how pregnancy loss and reproductive trauma are experienced through the postpartum body and how honoring the body's role in grief can support healing.
Whether working with someone after a pregnancy loss, supporting parents through a difficult postpartum experience, or helping women navigate life's many transitions, Dr. Santiago-Warner is committed to providing thoughtful, evidence-informed care that honors each person's unique story, strengths, and capacity for healing.
