At Multicultural CBT-DBT/ The Flying Psychotherapist. I offer individual (adolescent and adult), couples, family psychotherapy and groups as well as assessment services to help individuals heal emotionally and regain normal functioning. In addition, I offer services to foster an individual’s personal growth in order to reach their full potential, emotionally, and in the family and business life.

My diverse background has allowed me to help individuals around the world to reach their personal goals and guide them, step-by-step, to achieve higher levels of success.

I am a psychotherapist specialized in helping those struggling with daily stressors, depression/anxiety, relationship difficulties, perfectionism, procrastination, chronic pain, and problems associated with certain life stages (e.g. career, college), eating issues, substance abuse, as well as suicidal and non-suicidal self-injurious behaviors. I have particular expertise in working with individuals from a multicultural perspective, including but not limited to, LGBT populations and providing psychotherapy in Spanish.

I was one of the founding clinicians of the first Spanish-Speaking DBT Programs in the United States at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, and I am currently the Coordinator of the International Spanish DBT Programs worldwide. I also have expertise in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) for a wide range of difficulties, received training from Dr. Edna Foa, the world’s foremost expert in Prolonged Exposure (PE), an evidenced based treatment model for the treatment of anxiety disorders, and have been further trained in Cognitive Behavioral Analysis System of Psychotherapy (CBASP) for chronic depression, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a problem-focused and empirically supported treatment for depression, anxiety disorders, relationship conflicts, and addictions. I have intensive training in interventions reflecting up-to-date research advances incorporating CBT with mindfulness and emotion regulation strategies including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy DBT, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy ACT and Prolonged Exposure PE.

Currently I consult with agencies around the world on DBT Spanish Programs and have given international talks to multidisciplinary mental health professionals in countries as diverse as Turkey, Argentina, Spain and Peru. I am currently a Diplomat of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy.

I have merged both of my passion, as The Flying Psychotherapist, I have combine both of my professions, being a Flight Attendant for a commercial airline for over 22 years and a Clinical PsychotherapistAs a pyschotherapist I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Prolonged Exposure (PE), a therapy that helps people deal with trauma with Virtual Reality and (PE).
