Tara Nasir Gore (she/her/hers)

I am a neuropsychologist and clinical psychologist specialized in working with children, adolescents, and young adults who present with various academic, emotional, and behavioral challenges.

My areas of focus include assessing and diagnosing individuals on the Autism Spectrum, as well as treating any co-occurring social emotional and behavioral challenges with this population. My clinical speciality is also focused around the educational experiences and mental health needs of culturally and linguistically diverse populations. As a first generation Pakistani American, I aim to make mental health care more accessible to those in communities like my own where there is a greater mental health disparity. I am a native Urdu speaker and can provide services in that language.

My experience working in a wide variety of settings, as well as my background in school psychology, has shaped my approach to the evaluation and treatment process by working closely alongside family members, teachers, and other service providers to ensure the best possible outcomes. I take on a playful, warm, and down-to-earth approach to help my clients become invested and engaged in treatment goals. With a strengths-driven approach, I emphasize that we all have our own unique sets of strengths and weaknesses. Through the evaluation process and treatment we can learn more about how to utilize strengths, while also determining how to address weaknesses.

Outside of my private practice work, I provide therapeutic services to the Islamic Center students at New York University, as well as teach and train doctoral level psychology students at Fordham University as an Associate Adjunct Professor.

In my free time, I enjoy cooking, baking, kayaking, and traveling. As a native New Yorker, I enjoy feeling like a tourist in my own city and love finding hidden gems.
