I am a warm, approachable, intuitive, and down-to-earth therapist with 20 years of clinical experience working with adolescents and adults. I am passionate about working with those who identify as LGBQ+ and in providing affirmative care to transgender and gender-expansive clients of all ages. This includes people who are questioning, exploring, transitioning, or simply looking for a space where they can show up fully as themselves. In addition, I work with adolescents and adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, or stress; those who are navigating life transitions, challenges at home and/or school, or who are trying to become pregnant, are pregnant, or who are parenting. Additionally, for the past 14 years and counting I have served as the Director of Social Work at a New York City middle and high school where I provide direct, in-school therapy and mental health services to students. This role has fostered a deep understanding of adolescent development, as well as the many ways that identity, school, home, family, relationships, systems, and mental health intersect.
My work is collaborative and individualized. I am easy to talk to, am not afraid to laugh or use humor in session, and I believe strongly in the healing power of the therapeutic relationship. I have a psychodynamic approach and draw from a variety of modalities to meet you where you are. Sometimes therapy means going deeper and understanding where patterns come from; sometimes it means developing practical tools to get through a difficult week. Often, it’s both. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, feel more equipped to handle challenges, and create meaningful change.
Most importantly, I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely comfortable being yourself. Clients have described me as someone who makes it easy to open up and talk about things that can feel difficult, messy, or hard to put into words. I bring warmth, curiosity, honesty, and practicality to our work together.
If you’re looking for a therapist who will meet you with openness, respect, and genuine curiosity, I invite you to reach out. We can talk about what’s going on, what you’re looking for, and whether we might be a good fit.
