I am a clinical psychologist in private practice with over 25 years experience treating adults, older adults and their families. In my private work, I provide sensitive and effective cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT).
I offer individual psychotherapy to adults for issues including panic attacks, anxiety, general worry, OCD, difficulty making life decisions or managing transitions, job-related stress, interpersonal challenges, and dealing with loss or illness. I also provide targeted family interventions as well as consultation regarding late-life transitional issues with older adults and their adult children.
My point of view in providing psychotherapy is derived from CBT, a more short-term, active, problem and present-oriented approach that provides both a framework for conceptualizing emotional distress as well as time-tested tools for helping people reduce or eliminate this distress in intuitive and effective ways. In addition, I value collaboration and transparency in the therapeutic relationship. There’s no smoke and mirrors or guessing at what I think; you will get feedback and be asked for feedback along the way. You will have a partner in your efforts to make important changes and feel and function better in your day to day life.
