The WMHC Early Career Members Committee is hosting an experiential breathwork workshop on Friday September 20th, 2024 from 3:30pm to 4:45pm. We will have Ivy Chim leading this intimate gathering of members for relaxation and community building.
Ivy has generously shared this brief description of the practice she will be guiding:
No experience needed. Breathwork is an active meditation practice using a multi-part breath. It’s a helpful tool for connecting to your body. The breathwork experience varies from person to person - it helps move through blocked emotional energy, embodied traumatic experiences, or experience deep relaxation. Breathwork meditation is practiced laying down, so I recommend bringing a yoga mat and/or blanket, eye cover, and water/tea. The more comfortable and cozier you are, the deeper the experience. Bring a journal and pen to write or draw after breathwork.
For this event, please bring your own mat or blanket to sit/lay on. We can also provide chairs to sit upright if preferred. E-mail Yesel (yesel@yyoonphd.com) if you need to borrow something to sit/lay on.
Please direct inquiries for this event to our ECM Committee Co-Chair Yesel Yoon, PhD at yesel@yyoonphd.com.
