Therapists of New York is currently accepting applications for our Private Practice Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. The position starts anytime between January and December 2022.
Therapists of New York is a thriving private practice located in Midtown Manhattan. We work with a diverse group of adults, adolescents, families and couples. Our patients are generally high functioning and are seeking help with anxiety, relationship issues, depression and trauma.
Our orientation is integrated and eclectic; our core is psychodynamic and we integrate CBT, EFT, ACT, IFS and DBT when clinically indicated. Our postdoctoral training program provides extensive didactics and individual and group supervision in order to help our postdocs cultivate and fine-tune their own style.
Our postdocs can choose to focus on being a generalist in private practice or receive specialized training in one of the following tracks: trauma (primarily from a psychodynamic perspective), couples and family (primarily from EFT, IFS and psychodynamic perspectives) and personality disorders (primarily from a psychodynamic and dialectical-behavioral perspective + opportunities to co-lead DBT groups).
The environment at Therapists of New York is warm, flexible, and innovative. Our postdocs learn how to work within the private practice framework, run a business, realize their individual interests, and build a reputation. Moreover, we value building and maintaining our connections to one another at Therapists of New York. We pride ourselves on our tight knit community, which is often lively with support, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas.
Salary is competitive with 4 weeks paid vacation, major holidays off, a 4-day work week, and health and dental benefits. We are currently offering the flexibility of a hybrid model of working. Postdocs will have the opportunity to offer both in-person and virtual services, with most postdocs spending 2-3 days working out of our spacious, bright and modern offices.
All applicants must have completed their internship and successfully defended their dissertation prior to beginning. Therapists of New York is an equal opportunity employer and highly encourages people from diverse backgrounds to apply.
