Webinar with Donna Klassen: Mental Health and the Menopause Transition: Using CBT and DBT Skills to Address the “Third Window of Vulnerability” for Women.

Tuesday, June 10, 2025 @ 12:00PM (Eastern)
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Recent research increasingly supports that the menopause transition represents a distinct period of psychiatric risk, necessitating targeted awareness and interventions. The physiological changes that accompany menopause — including difficulty sleeping and vasomotor symptoms like hot flashes — can significantly contribute to mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, and cognitive disturbances.

While we cannot stop the biological changes that come with menopause, we can empower women with evidence-based tools to better navigate this challenging phase. This presentation will explore how Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) can help women manage the emotional and psychological effects of menopause. By providing clinicians with practical strategies, we aim to enhance the mental health support women receive during this pivotal stage of life.
