Stephanie Freitag

Psychologist, PhD

Hi, I'm Stephanie. I'm a licensed clinical psychologist and adjunct professor at the Emory School of Medicine. I strive to provide a warm and safe space where patients can feel comfortable sharing without fear of judgment. My goal is to help my patients reflect on their values so that they can work towards what it means to be their "best self." I will always focus on treating the symptoms and not the "disorder," in an effort to tailor my approach to the individual. I believe deeply in fighting stigma associated with mental illness and am involved in advocacy and research outside of treating patients. I am well-versed in a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities such as CBT and third wave treatments including ACT, DBT, and MI. However, I tend to integrate psychodynamic theory into case conceptualization, often from an attachment-framework. I have particular clinical and research experience working with survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence. Please check out my practice website at: https://www.newgenerationpsych.com/
