WMHC Early Career Committee Hosts Presentation on AI technology in electronic health record (EHR) systems.

The Women’s Mental Health Consortium Early Career Committee invites members to attend an upcoming informational presentation on the evolving role of AI technology in electronic health record (EHR) systems. 

This session will explore:

  • How AI is currently being integrated into EHR platforms for mental health clinicians
  • Where AI tools may support documentation and administrative workflows
  • Where human judgment, clinical oversight, and relational care remain essential
  • Ethical considerations and limitations of automation in behavioral health


Presenters

Dawit Fasika and Hashem Abdou are healthcare-focused software engineers and the co-founders of Oasys Health, an AI-backed EHR platform built specifically for mental health care. Their work centers on designing clinical technology that reduces administrative burden while prioritizing data security, ethical implementation, and clinician-centered workflows. Drawing from their experience building healthcare software, they will discuss how AI is being applied in the EHR space, where it adds value, and where human decision-making remains critical.
